A little less than a decade ago I wrote my undergraduate thesis at University of Toronto about Autism and Pokemon’s narrative structures in terms of augmenting the socialization abilities for those on the spectrum. I theorized that the narrative was presented with a UI designed to enable players to befriend one another and display information about themselves in a manner that neurodiverse and neurotypical players found it seamless to understand one another. I am grateful for Prof. John Kennedy and Prof. Dunbar for giving me the opportunity to pursue such research.
My main focus in University providing me with a specialist in English literature or narrative design. I still experiment with narrative design and sometimes make sequential art or illustrations. I focused on sequential arts studies (although uncredited) at Max the Mutt Animation school too!
Afterwards, I craved the chance to make games.
I’ve been a narrative designer since 2010 in Toronto, Ontario at Sakura River Interactive. In 2019 I completed a game designer Post-Graduate studies program at George Brown College. It was there I had the joy of working as a concept artist, game designer, and co-producer as well with Team Bitr Blok.
I’m odd and enjoy learning a little bit about everything. I like to read voraciously since I was a kid. Something about grandparents turning off the air conditioning in summers to force me and cousins to go to the library for air conditioning and learning. I am also a writer for Boxofficebuz.com and review movies and games for them.
